These are internet-based events hosted at wildhorsesonline.blm.gov. You browse, apply, bid or buy fixed-price, and arrange a pickup at a designated location.

Pauls Valley Off-Range Corral — Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Walk-up adoptions, no appointment needed. Approximately 80 animals available each month.

The USFS’s Facebook Page is the best place to go to view mustangs available for adoption. They have smaller satellite locations throughout the USA (listed below) and will work to arrange transport of mustangs to these locations.
Two USFS holding facilities are:
1. Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals Modoc National Forest, near Alturas, California The largest USFS-managed wild horse territory, the Devil’s Garden Plateau, spans 500 square miles. A gather of 350 horses was completed in fall 2025, meaning horses from that gather are currently available for adoption.
How adoptions work here: there are no scheduled public event dates. Approved adopters submit a selection form by email listing up to 15 horses in order of preference, and horses are assigned first-come, first-served. There is no auction or bidding. Pickup appointments are made individually.

2. Jicarilla Ranger District Wild Horse Adoption Facility Carson National Forest, near Bloomfield, New Mexico 7 Road 5050, just south of Bloomfield off Highway 550 Contact your local Carson National Forest office for current availability and appointment information.
